Chrome plating is an electroplating process by using chromium element. It’s used in industry by many ways. These are;
• Protect materials from corrosion by providing resistance
• Protect from impacts and scratches
• Providing smooth surface
• Resistance to friction
Composition of the material is important due to hardness after chrome plating. Hardness can be increased also by induction hardening before plating.
Damaged rods can be repaired if possible. After grinding, rods are plated up to original diameter.
